Upgrading SEP clients to 12.1.4 MP1 with SCCM
I need a solution
Hello Guys , I have upgraded my SEPM's to 12.1.4 MP1 , now I need to upgrade my clients running 12.1.3 to 12.1.4 MP1 . The total number of clients are 1700.
Iniitally the clients were deployed using SCCM . Now I want to ask you that should I upgrade them using SCCM or via SEPM auto upgrade feature ? Which is recommended in the current scenerio ?
Secondly If I go with the SCCM , then what are the steps I am required to follow to make the upgrade happen ? Should I simply give the 12.1.4 MP1 clients 32 bit and 64 bit packages to my SCCM team and they only need to simply push it ? What are best practices I should follow while doing this ?

Need schedule customized report for 12.1.3 version sepm

Hey All,
Am managing around 300 clients with a single console, i would like to schedule a report to generate and email to my mailbox.
I would like to generate a report everyday for clients which is not updated with new definition file, The dropdown menu in reporting tab dont help me, coz dont have a filter for that.
Also, am looking to generate a customized report with multiple reports in one attached or email.
Appreciate if some body could guide me on this.

Endpoints Updating Slowly
I need a solution
Starting with the May 2nd, 2014 virus definitions, the environment I administer has had serious difficulties in updating virus defs in a normal manner. By this I mean, all of the endpoints are checking in within 24 hours but it is taking more than 24 hours for them to update.
Example:
I have ~150,000 endpoints
Today my endpoints are updating to 6-1-2014 rev. 32 (we only update definitions once a day)
At the end of the day when we are going to update to 6-2 definitions, I'll still have 5000 or so endpoints on 6-1 definitions. They will stay on that date for 3 or 4 days slowly updating. On 6-2 I'll have 5000 on 6-1, on 6-3 I'll 4000, on 6-4 I'll have 3000 and so on. The endpoints are updating, they're just not doing it in a timely manner.
Where this gets really bad is the fact that its every definition. So I'll have 5000 on 6-1, 4000 on 5-31, 3000 on 5-30, 2000 on 5-29, 1000 on 5-28. In reality they don't update that quickly so what I end up with is something like 18,000 endpoints that are not within a 3 days of the current defnitions. This is inordanitely high as prior to May, we were looking at about 3000 endpoints out of date regularly.
Any ideas?

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.4 prevents deletion of cached profile

I have seen variants of this issue posted before in past Symantec issue posts but I wanted to see if any updates have occurred in a possible solution for this annoying issue.
In our organization, we create Windows 7 accounts for our 'Public' workstations that are fairly locked down. These are mandatory roaming profiles. When the patron logs out of the account, the cached copy is deleted from the hard drive with the fresh copy then being brought over from a central server. Well every so often, the cached copy of the profile is not completely removed as Symantec has a log file in the following path locked, preventing deletion.
C:\users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Logs\xxxxxx.log
The log file that is locked even prevents deletion from a Domain Admin so a script to remove it does not work. If one were to reboot the workstation then this can be deleted with no issue.

SEPM 11.x AV Defs Stuck at 5/30/14?

Anyone else still running SEP 11 where your SEPM's antivirus/antispyware definitions haven't updated since Friday, 5/30/14? PTP is up to 6/2/14 so I know connectivity is OK and I see no errors in LU status in my SEPM (i.e. shows 32/64-bit av defs are up-to-date at 5/30/14). Let me know if your SEPM (I'm on 11.0.5) has updated its antivirus/antispyware defs past 5/30/14 to determine whether it's a problem on my server. Thanks in advance!

The client has decided to reject the upgrade package.
I need a solution
When I am checking on one of the PC's, I see this message, "The client has decided to reject the upgrade package"
1. I have not designated ANY upgrade pacakge for this site or client
2. This PC is ALREADY at the LATEST version, so I am not sure exactly what it is rejecting
3. There have been no manual or remote pushes to this client.
4. Why would a client reject an upgrade package anyway?
5. Copy and paste STILL DO NOT work in IE in these forums.

I need a solution
Does symantec have an update/management solution for clients? I have a remote site that does not have a site vpn to the main office. The nodes at this site are managed through main site but are updating through a client vpn that runs on the local workstation. This is problematic so i was wanting to know if symantec has a solution similar to what trend micro has in that you can install the client on the remote workstation to update from the internet, but that client will still report back to the corporate console at main site(what they call roaming mode). Does sep have this?

Manual AD SYNC question
I need a solution

Im running SEPM 12.1.
Used to using Groups, and new to AD sync groups.
Lets say an AD sycn groups have been setup in SEPM, and is setup to automatically sync with AD everyday.
If i want to manually run a sync beforehand, do i just right click on any group folder, and click on "SYNC NOW"? Will this force a sync with AD for all the imported OU's? Or for just for the group folder i selected?
If it applied to only the group folder i selected, then how do i manually sync for the whole AD OU's that has been imported?
Also, lets say there is a SEP client machine in AD OU, that has not been imported to SEPM group, and is not synched.
Will this SEP client machine, end up in DEFAULT group?

EXE install issue with 12.1.4013.4013 version- VIRUS problem!

Hi all,
We have an exe file which we use to install a tool that we have developed.
On clicking the exe file- endpoint client says that the file has a virus and then quarantines it.
The exe file doesnt really have any virus. WE have to disable to SEP while installing and then enable it after the install is done. While the tool is running- SEP doesnt really show up any virus notifications.
we didnt face this issue with SEP 12.1.2015.2015. We are facing this virus problem only with 12.1.4013.4013[ the latest update of SEP]
It has become a problem now in installing the exe file.We have a lot of users who use our tool across a lot of geographical locations.
Please suggest ASAP what should we do in order to get rid of this issue.

Incessant Audit Failures rec'd on all my servers. It seems as if I get them mulitple times per minute...each and every minute...every day...after day...after day...
Does anyone have an update or a fix on this issue? The only thing I've found is the following KB:

The only suggestion is to turn off auditing. This is not an option for us and I need to know if there is a fix or will it be fixed in the next itteration of SEP?
