Hi, I set the threshold to have SEPM delete non-persistent VDI connections to once every 2 days, but they're not being deleted automatically - I still have to delete them manually.
I wouldn't care if I was somehow able to hide these devices but every day I look at the Endpoint Status window on the Home screen and see 150 or more "offline" devices reported. I don't want to see any if they're not VDI clients.
Any advice?

If not please help me find the location of the log file for the SEP agent, we have clients that needs to be checked remotely but pulling the log file from their machine silently.

I went through the motions of installing a second sepm for load balancing/failover and when I got to the section
"Install an additional management server to an existing site" then the next screen
Authentication type : Database Server: Database name:, etc...
Since I have an existing database, the box pops up and says Database is being initailized, this will take a few minutes ...
Then a box pops up and says The management server name already exists. Do you want to replace it with the new server?
First of all theinitialize worried me because I though it was going to wipe out the database that had already been created and in use by my first server.
1) I found an article that said something about initialize in this case did not mean that the database was being wiped out. Can you possibly point me to an article that discribes this very question?
2) I get the part where The management server name already exists because (I think) since this is a RE-INSTALL, the database was already aware of the name of the server that I was reinstalling, right?
I am looking for the anwer to (1) for documentation for an audit. Please help me out if you can. Thank you!
I have quite a few servers that a couple of admins have noticed this notification popping up immediately after logging in. However, the client is indeed up to date and doesnt have any errors. I'm aware of the setting in the AV policy that controls this feature and it's set to not notify until after 3 days. We are using version 12.1 RU6 MP1 and the servers are Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks.

I installed a managed client of SEP 12.1. RU6 MP3 on a Windows 10 (version 1511) x64 Enterprise client. After the installation of SEP it asks for a reboot but after rebooting (dosen't matter how many times) the message does not go away. Is there a fix or just back luck in my case or how this can be solfed?

Hello,
when checking the troubleshooting windows in SEP client while connected via Microsoft Direct Access it states that it's offline. I think the reason is that SEP runs with a local account but to pass through the DA IPsec tunnel a domain account needs to be used. Is it possible to configure SEP clients to use a domain account to talk to the management server or is there any way to get it working?

We had loaded Angry IP Scanner on one PC (Win XP) on the network. Then, on another PC (Win 7), we started getting antivirus messages to fix or exclude registry changes related to Angry IP. I uninstalled Angry IP on the XP machine. I have tried both options (fix or exclude) on the Win 7 machine and keep getting the same message. I'm unable to find any files related to Angry IP on the Win 7PC. I would like to eliminate the files trying to make the registry changes and thus stop the anti-virus messages.

I am currently facing the following situation:
Symantec Endpoint Protection on clients can be disabled and activated by users (due to the local admin rights) -> users without local admin priviliges can not deactivate the client -> this will be changed in near future
We have devided the security guidelines betweens ervers and clients within our network
Now both guidelines have the setting under localisation options that nobody is able to deactivate the client (I checked the docu >> all settings correct)
Interestingly the option to deactivate the SEP is being greyed out on servers where the administrator is logged in and on local client computers the users are able to activate and deactivate the client.
I have no idea how this scenario could happen.
I ensured that not even Windows administrators can enable/disable the client and anyways I have the described scenario.
Any ideas?
I've been trying to find a good way for an office that is halfway around the word to get policies and updates without directly coming back to the SEPM console we have here. I've been going through the documentation but it was a little unclear as to whether this is what the GUP is for.
Can I create a group of servers within the SEPM console and then apply a specific GUP that is within their site so that the communication from the remote site back to the SEPM will be minimal? Is there a better way to achieve the update of policies and virus definitions?

Some of my users are getting a message from Windows notification center on their laptop that "Windows Firewall and Symantec Endpoint Protection are both turned off", however Symantec should not be turned off and each of our laptops are managed through Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager. The end users are running SEP version 12.1.6 build 6318. It seems that those getting the message saying Symantec is turned off have also not been getting our weekly antivirus scans. Please help us to resolve this.
I recently released 12.1.6.1 to the field here at work. I continually check my SEPM for an irregularities that pop up when updating, just to be proactive.
I'm getting a lot of scan failures all of a sudden. It's above our threshold and I'd like to know if there's a way to remediate this without logging into hundreds of machines individually?

I have endpoint 12.1.2015.2015 that I dowload fromthe Air Force DISA site. It isn't compatiable with Windows 10. Will there be updates to make this compatiable? If not, how do I update to a compatable version of Endpoint?
